An efficiently operating offshore HVAC system on marine transformer stations and installation vessels has a dual significance. On one hand, precise process systems actively cool sensitive technical equipment (inverters, servers, control automation). Overheating these components would halt power transmission and cause massive losses.

On the other hand, the system ensures the safety and comfort of personnel operating far from land. Therefore, every offshore HVAC installation on our projects strictly complies with the standards set in the maritime industry by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Detailed scope of technical and commissioning work

To ensure the offshore HVAC system was commissioned without operational disruptions, our certified team carried out multi-stage preparation and testing procedures. Main tasks included:

  • BlueBox process air conditioning systems: We performed a full preparation procedure for specialized BlueBox split-type freon systems. Tasks included dry nitrogen pressure testing, vacuuming, and precise refrigerant charging. The work concluded with a technological startup and control algorithm verification.
  • Main air conditioning system (Bitzer): We carried out the professional commissioning of the central HVAC installation, powered by Bitzer compressors. Our engineers calibrated the systems, adjusted superheat, and executed performance tests under full heat load.
  • Marine automation and precise control: Meticulous verification of safety systems (pressure switches, phase loss control modules). Subsequently, we integrated the unit automation with the vessel’s main management system.

Certification, final testing, and operational reliability

Every professional handover of an offshore HVAC system must rely on hard operational measurements. Completion of the work was officially confirmed by rigorous operational tests on the open sea.
